Perry softball may of played their best game of the season last night. Postseason play opened up with the Jayettes traveling to Denison. Perry picked up the 6-0 win. Maci Tunink surrendered just one hit in the complete game win. She also struck out 7 Monarchs. The Jayettes scored first in the third thanks to 2 errors. They would add 4 insurance runs in the fifth and an additional 1 in the sixth. The offense combined for 10 hits. Karagyn Whelchel, Kalley Whelchel, and Maddy Hollingsworth each had 2 hits. Kalley Whelchel also drove in 2 RBI’s and scored 3 runs.
The Jayettes improve to 9-18 and advance to take on Storm Lake tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7P and will air on KDLS.
