The temperatures will be on the rise tomorrow, but there’s plenty of cool things left to see and do at the Greene County Fair.

The final livestock show begins at 8am in the show ring with the beef, bucket calf and the Cattle Kids shows. The Horse Fun Show begins at noon at the horse arena, followed by the communications show in Clover Hall at 1pm. Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says the beef show is typically a crowd pleaser.

“The stands certainly fill up for the beef show. That’s always a really popular one for sure. The beef barn will be full this year, especially with our Cattle Kids. We have, I would say, close to 30 bucket calves for Cattle Kids right now.”

Other youth activities include a pedal pull, art hour and a kickball tournament at the city of Jefferson softball fields. The Greene County Fair Board is hosting bingo at 2pm near Clover Hall that is open to the public to participate and the baby contest at 5:30pm in Clover Hall. Fair Board Vice President Katlynn Mechaelsen says prior to the grandstand event with the 3rd Annual Pullin’ for Harley Truck Pull at 6pm is the new Micro Mini Tractor Pullers outside of the grandstand.

“They’re a scale tractor, 16th-scale tractor, they run on a real motor, gasoline and everything,  and then they have these mini truck pulls. It’s a whole association, they travel all around to county fairs, even the state fair has their own association. That will be really interesting to watch, I think young boys and girls will get a kick out of watching those.”

General admission for the truck pull in the grandstands is $10 per person and $20 for the pit area, each are for anyone three and older. Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio is broadcasting live from 10am-6pm through Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday.
