The 2-19 Greene County Rams go to 23-6 and third ranked North Polk tonight in Alleman to open Class 3A Substate baseball tournament play. Coach Kyle Stalder’s team is facing the Comets on their diamond to open the postseason for the second straight season. The Rams are a Class 3A program in baseball and have a sharing program with Paton-Churdan in both softball and baseball.

The Comets finished the 2023 season as the State Tournament runner-up in 3A. They return their top pitcher and a number of other key components from that team. NP has 10 seniors on their roster while the Rams have zero.
