Open Class static exhibits from 2023 Greene Co Fair
The 4-H static exhibits have been judged at the Greene County Fair and that leaves the open class exhibits to be on display.
Co-Chair Ann Frederickson says open class is for adults who want to show their projects in arts and crafts, foods, genealogy, flowers and vegetables, and textiles. She points out there is also a junior division with 2-11 and 12-16 year-olds. Frederickson recalls that there were about 150 total exhibits at last year’s fair.
Interested individuals can bring their exhibits to Clover Hall anytime from noon-7pm today to be entered and the judging will take place Friday morning and then the public can see the results starting Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday. Frederickson adds that prize money will also be awarded according to the ribbon color an exhibit receives.
Additionally, Frederickson says there is a quilt voting and raffle going on. The public can vote for their favorite quilt block and the winning design will be made into a full quilt for next year’s county fair. The raffle is for this year’s quilt that was made and tickets are $1 per person. Frederickson notes that the raffle brought in over $400 last year, which all proceeds goes to the Greene County 4-H program.
