The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Booster Club is preparing for their second annual golf tournament on August 3rd.

Golf Tournament Committee Member Randy Carney says that they have roughly half of the 24 teams they’re hoping for registered, but they have room for up to 27. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while it started as an alumni tournament last year, several people that participated weren’t alumni, and the Boosters wanted to open the tournament up to more community members who weren’t alumni as well..

“Well, we just thought it’d be a neat way to bring our two communities together as a district. We’ve started whole grade sharing, I believe we just ended our eighth year, and we’re just trying to bring the community members and alumni together, and we thought this would be a good little fundraiser. We’re just trying to unite people and get them socially active and have a good time.”

Carney mentions that there are four sponsorship levels that individuals and businesses may sign up for, or that they may just register as a team and not a sponsor. He adds that for those who are only looking to golf, the registration fee for one person is $100, and for a team of four it’s $400. This includes a sleeve of golf balls per player, and a golf cart for the team to use during the tournament. Sponsorship levels can be found below.

Carney explains that they will also have a community dinner. For those only interested in the dinner, meal tickets can be purchased from any AC/GC Booster Club or School Board Members. The meal will take place at the new show barn at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds, with awards and prizes for the golfers handed out from 4-4:30pm, with the meal at 6pm. Carney says that there will also be live and silent auctions, with the silent auction to close at 6:30pm and winners of the items to be announced at 7pm.

Platinum: $1,000 – Video and printed ads at events, team meal tickets, team registration and golf cart

Gold: $750 – Printed ads at events, team meal tickets, team registration and golf cart

Silver: $500 – Hole Sponsor, team meal tickets, team registration and golf cart

Bronze: $250 – Hole Sponsor, signs/logos are placed at each hole and displayed at every home game
