The Dallas County Fair is in full swing in Adel with tomorrow’s focus on children.
According to the Dallas County Fair Association, the theme is “Kids Day” at the fair, starting with the 4H/FFA Food Stand opening at 7am, followed by the 4H/FFA Junior Feeder Show at 8am, and then the 4H/FFA Beef Show at 8:30am. Barnyard Bingo Board will be sold by the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn FFA Alumni at 9am, with the carnival opening at 10:30am featuring one dollar rides for kids.
A “Kids Celebration” begins at 11:30am, then there will be a foam zone and kids pedal tractor pull at noon. The Dallas County Ag in the classroom will follow at 1pm, with otter adventures from 2-8pm, and the fair association states that there will be shows at 2pm and 6pm. At 3pm, there’s going to be kids activities by Dallas County Parks & Recreation and Clover Kids Day activities and an ice cream palooza at 3:30pm.
The Fair Association continues that senior recognition with share the fun and communications awards is taking place at 4pm, with the 4H Ice Cream Social to follow at 5pm. The fair will serve a Cattleman steak sandwich dinner from 5-8pm. In the evening at 6pm, gates will open for Mutton Busting starting at 7pm and the Bull Riding begins at 8pm. Lastly, DJ Dallas and DJ Bmoore will end the night with music from 9pm-12am.
Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil Big Red will be making an appearance during the fair from 10am-6pm. The fair is going on at the Dallas County Fairgrounds, 28057 Fairground Road, in Adel.
