Humboldt visited Greene County at Allensworth Field in Jefferson on Tuesday night with the Wildcats winning the non-conference contest by a 11-1 final in six innings via the 10 run rule. The game was the last of the regular season for the Rams, who are 2-19 entering Friday night’s Class 3A Substate opener in Alleman vs. top ranked North Polk. Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The game vs. Humboldt the Wildcats score twice in the second inning. They added two more in the fifth before the sixth inning eruption. The Rams score their only run in the fifth. Greene County was out hit seven to four and the Rams were charged with four errors and the Wildcats were charged with two.

Junior Isaac Carman had a double to knock in the only run for the Rams and he also singled and walked. In the two games this week Carman has reached base all six plate appearances. Junior Crew Conner and junior Lane Fields each singled once as the Rams totaled just four hits vs. three different Humboldt pitchers.

The Rams started with junior Gavyn Winters on the mound. He went the first three innings with junior Camden Jacobs going the fourth and fifth, and sophomore Nathan Towers throwing the sixth.
