Tomorrow is the start of the Adair County Fair.

The festivities begin at 6am, with all livestock except poultry to be checked in. From 7-8am there will be a check in for rabbits on the west end of the dairy barn, and swine will be weighed from 7-8:30am, while donuts and rolls will be available at the gazebo thanks to Adair County Health System from 8am until the pastries are gone. From 8:30-10am, lead market beef will be weighed in, followed by junior feeder pen cattle, then from 10:30-11 meat goats will weigh in, and from 11am to noon sheep will be weighed.

Quilt show entry at the Varied Industries Building will be from noon to 3pm, with the bucket/bottle calf and bucket/bottle lamb record books due to the 4-H/FFA Center, along with the dog show to be held in the Mid-American Arena. Entry for swine performance will be in the swine barn from 1-1:45pm, with the entry for lamb/goat performance to follow from 1:45 to 2:30pm, and the Clover Kids Rabbit/Cavy Show in the swine show ring beginning at 3:30pm.

Registration for the open archery tournament will be at the northwest corner of the fairgrounds from 4-5:30pm, with Toby the Balloon Dude will do balloon twisting from 4:30-7:30pm along with Phil Vandel to perform from 5-8pm at the gazebo. Also from 5-8pm, the quilt show will begin in the Varied Industries Building.

Beginning at 6pm, there will be a free BBQ hamburger/pork burger meal compliments of the Adair County Fair Board in the courtyard, an ice cream social hosted by the Historical Society, the 4-H/FFA Building will open, with the 4-H silent auction beginning as well. At 8pm, gazebo presentations will begin, with the announcement of Little Miss and Little Mister Adair County, local conservation awards from Adair County Soil and Water Conservation, multiple awards from the Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and coronation of the Adair County Fair Queen. To finish off the night, there will be a fireworks show directed by Top Notch Fireworks.
