Tomorrow picks up more steam with activities and shows at the Greene County Fair in Jefferson.

The livestock and animal shows include the poultry show in the show ring at 1pm and the dog obedience and showmanship show at 3pm at the gazebo. Greene County Fair Board Vice President Katlynn Mechaelsen says during the fair queen contest tomorrow night at 7pm at Clover Hall is going to be a new event with the Little Miss and Mister Royalty. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio  any five through seven year olds can register from 5-6:30pm tomorrow with a $10 entry fee per child.

Mechaelsen explains that during the queen contest as the judges are deliberating, all of the Little Miss and Misters that signed up will take the stage, each are asked one question to answer and then those winners will be randomly chosen. Following that will be the announcement of the fair queen. She describes the main reason for starting the Little Mister and Miss Royalty is to get more people coming to the fair.

“Even all the registrations, all of the contestants will get a little prize. So it’ll just be a fun little thing, get more people into the queen contest, hopefully get people out to the fairgrounds, that’s our goal. That’s why we do all of these entertainment, all these little things throughout the week is to get more people to come out and see our fairgrounds, see all of the kids projects, and what they’ve been working so hard for.”

Additionally, everyone is invited to check out the static exhibit results for the youth and see what items qualified for the Iowa State Fair in August, along with the decorated 4-H booths in Clover Hall starting at 1pm tomorrow. Raccoon Valley Radio will also be there live broadcasting from 10am-6pm Wednesday through Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday.
