The 2024 Greene County Fair opens tomorrow and there are a few activities for youth and the public to enjoy.

Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says aside from lots of livestock getting checked in for the week, static exhibits are going to be judged throughout the day in Clover Hall, with the one event for the public being the dog agility and the Clover Kids Puppy Pack Show at the gazebo at 6pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio the number of dog entries has been steadily rising.

“I want to say we have close to 30 dogs and exhibitors in the program this year. And I really commend those kids, they’ve been practicing every Monday since the first week of April. So they have been practicing hard for two hours every Monday. So I really commend them on the hard work and it’s really great to out and support them, and watch them.”

Hardaway points out there are over 300 entries at this year’s county fair and one way people can support their financial support to the 4-H program is through purchasing food and beverages at Clover Cafe.

“All of the money that is made at Clover Cafe goes directly back to the kids. It supports the programs that they go and participate in, it supports the camps that we do, it supports anything and everything going on throughout the year for 4-H.”

Clover Cafe is open tomorrow from 5-9pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will also be at the county fair broadcasting live Wednesday through Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-3pm. Click the link below to see the full schedule of the fair events and activities.
