The deadline for youth in Jefferson and the surrounding communities is fast approaching to register for three youth soccer programs with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

JPRD is partnering with the Boone Soccer Club for U10, U12 and U15 fall soccer programs. JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral says the U10 and U12 registration fee is $90 and U15 is $125. Kral points out that participating youth must be separately registered with JPRD and the Boone Soccer Club. There are additional fees for jerseys, shorts, and socks. Practices will start on August 18th for all three programs, and games will be from September 7th through mid-October, with all games for U10 and U12 at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Boone Campus and U15 is a travel league with games played at various locations.

Kral talks about the partnership with the Boone Soccer Club going back several years.

“Since I’ve been here we’ve always partnered with Boone and had soccer with them. We’ve had great numbers. I think we had about 300 kids signed up for U10-U15 soccer. So they’re signing up and playing soccer which is great.”
