A representative from the Dallas County Hospital thanks a couple of organizations for contributing grants.

Public Relations Marketing Director Tom Harmsen says that two Bock Foundation grants were recently received in order to purchase new orthoscopic machines in the Perry and Dallas Center locations, plus a grant helping to replenish the hospital’s blessing box. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the blessing box is open for residents to donate.

“That’s an anonymous resource at the front of DCH for families in need and through that, help will be able to replenish throughout the year and we invite the community, that’s a community blessing box and we do have others that choose that replenish that as well when they’re seeing it run low.”

Harmsen adds that the Dallas County Foundation provided a grant towards the hospital’s ambulatory center for a blanket warmer. He notes that this will help the ambulatory center and the ER Department, plus serve patients.

“We’ve been introducing a lot of different services in our ambulatory center. Most recently we’re bringing back oncology and hematology, so this way if we have patients who are cold during their time with us, that layer of warmth really adds to their patient experience.”

Harmsen is extremely grateful to the Bock and Dallas County Foundation for their support for the hospital.
