Independence Day is tomorrow, and the Perry Chamber of Commerce is putting together a day full of events to celebrate.

The chamber has been raising money towards purchasing fireworks with different events like the Big Boom Bracket Battle, the Radio Pie Auction, and the Grocery Bill Roundup. According to Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, a total of $15,575.97 was raised between them.

Pertaining to the schedule tomorrow, Pasutti details that the annual parade will begin at 10am at East Perry Plaza, traveling two miles along Willis Avenue then turning on West 3rd Street to Pattee Park, straight into the entertainment.

“Lots of different activities going on, so one thing for sure, all day vendors at the park from 1-4pm, the Elks will have bingo at the large shelter house at Pattee Park, then at 2pm, you can go over to the First United Methodist Church and Perry Fine Arts will be hosting their annual musical extravaganza and ice cream social. But then we hope everyone comes back over to Pattee Park and from 6-9:30pm, we have live music from Stranger Than Fiction at the bandshell and of course again we have the 9:30(pm) fireworks finale.”

Pasutti reveals that the celebration is family friendly, encouraging Dallas County residents to stop by and enjoy the festivities.
