The AC/GC Chargers softball team was in action Monday, and split their games against the Des Moines Christian Lions.

The team took the first game 13-6, with an early lead. The Lions picked up two runs, while the Chargers tacked on eight in the first inning. AC/GC then put up another run in the second inning to go up 9-2, and both teams were scoreless in the next two innings. The Chargers picked up three more runs in the fifth, and allowed one, then tallied their final run in the sixth inning while allowing two runs for the Lions. Des Moines Christian recorded their final run in the seventh inning.

Game two was closer, with the Chargers falling 6-5. AC/GC trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but tied things up in the second. Both teams were scoreless in the next two innings, and the Chargers allowed a run in the fifth, putting the Lions up 2-1. AC/GC picked up two runs in the sixth while allowing three, then put up two runs in the seventh inning, and Des Moines Christian scored on the walk off.

Both the baseball and softball teams return to action tonight, as they make up their games against the West Central Valley Wildcats that were postponed due to lightning on June 25th. The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will broadcast the softball game, with first pitch at 6pm, and pregame coverage to begin at 5:30pm on the KKRF2 online live stream.
