A movie shot in Iowa will be shown in Winterset tomorrow, and will benefit Greenfield.

Norman Lear’s 1971 film “Cold Turkey” will be shown at 6pm tomorrow. Much of the movie was filmed in Greenfield after Lear visited and decided the Lancaster style town square was perfect for his comedic film. In the movie, a tobacco company searching for some positive publicity offers $25 million to any town in America that can quit smoking for a month. The small town of Eagle Rock, Iowa jumps into action, and hilarity ensues, with many finding themselves in foul moods without their nicotine fix.

Some big names for the movie include Dick Van Dyke as Reverend Clayton Brooks, Pippa Scott as Natalie Brooks and Tom Poston as Mr. Stopworth. Admission price for the movie will be a free will donation, and all proceeds will go to the Greater Greenfield Community Foundation to be used in the tornado relief fund.
