The AC/GC Chargers hosted their cross county rivals the Panorama Panthers for Senior Night.

The baseball team was looking for their first win of the season, and it came in the form of a three run inning in the bottom of the sixth inning for the 6-3 victory over their opponents. Head Coach Taylor Morris says that senior Tegan Slaybaugh was a major help on the mound, as he went the entire game for the Chargers, putting up a 2.00 ERA and two strikeouts. AC/GC is now 1-19 on the season.

The softball team also built up their win column, with a 5-0 victory over their opponent. The Chargers put up one run in the first through fourth innings, plus another in the sixth to get their score. Senior Pitcher Emerson Van Meter was a dominant force on the mound, with 10 strikeouts on the night, adding to her already impressive 76. She also hit a double in the first inning for the RBI. The other three RBI’s on the night came from Paige Van Meter in the second, Jayla Hoover in the third, and Becca Littler in the sixth inning.

Senior Mersadez Richter shares what went well for the team during the victory.

“We had very good defense, we always communicate and we just make our simple plays. We didn’t have any errors really. I guess we had a couple, but after that we kept them short.”

The Chargers return to action tonight as they travel to Stuart to face off against their other cross county rival, the West Central Valley Wildcats in their Senior Night games. The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will broadcast the softball game on K107.9FM and the KKRF online live stream, with first pitch at 7pm, and pregame coverage to begin at 6:30pm.
