Applications for a business in Dallas County are now being accepted.

The Dallas County Habitat for Humanity is an organization that helps build homes in several communities within Dallas County. Community Partnership Coordinator Lindsey Rawson Van Wyk shares that the organization features two homes in the City of Perry and one in the City of DeSoto. She recognizes that the future of Perry could potentially look slightly different with the closing of the Tyson Foods Pork Plant on Friday.

“Perry has been through and is continuing to go through a very difficult year, and it’s a year of transition and healing, and a lot of question marks at this point for folks. The Habitat is really just wanting to be a big community partner. We’ve always been in the community but we’re recommitted in helping in any ways that we can to transition through this really difficult uncertain time.”
