It’s Chuckwagon Days for the City of Adair, and the theme for 2024 is “Candyland.”

Festivities start today, with activities beginning in the afternoon and moving into the evening. From 2-4pm are the old fashioned games in the park, with the Kids’ Parade lining up on Main Street at 5:45, and taking place at 6pm. Following the Kids’ Parade is the Little Miss/Mister Adair contest, and baby crawl.

At 6:30pm, there is face painting on Main Street, with registration for a bags tournament and a performance by the Adair Dance Academy, with the bags tournament to begin at 7pm on Main Street with kids’ kickball taking place in the park. Food options will be available beginning at 3pm, with a bake sale conducted by the Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Multiple Sclerosis Warriors, with a pie and ice cream social from the Presbyterian Church, Blue Penguin Shaved Ice, Triple B’s Tenderloins and a dinner served by the Adair Fire Department along with a beer garden opening at 5pm. Music for the night will be provided by Ben Puttmann on Main Street.

Events for tomorrow include a 5K/1 Mile race and kids’ foot races from 7-9am, the parade at 10:30am, vendors are open in the community building from 11am to 3:30pm, and a car and tractor show on Main Street from 11:30am to 4pm. There will also be inflatables in the park from 1-3pm, bingo from 1-2:30pm, along with a balloon guy and fire truck rides. There will be many food options throughout the day, covering all three meal times, and from 7-11pm, those attending can enjoy music from the TacOcaT Band.
