A non-profit organization in Jefferson is having a special event this Sunday.
Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County is hosting the 10 Year Anniversary Celebration and Concert from 1-4pm on Sunday at the gardens. To kick things off there will be a variety of guest speakers at 1pm under the pavilion, along with a video presentation inside the Welcome Center and tours around the gardens, that will be ongoing from 1-4pm.
Board President Danielle Ross says also from 1-4pm will be several family activities, including a scavenger hunt, sidewalk chalk, yard games provided by Legacy Events, and sugar cookies from The Centennial. A local band of the “J” Town Players will perform live music from 2-4pm. The band members are Jim Gulliman, Steve Bosshart, Marcia Roeder, Tony Kendall and Jim McDonald.
Ross has been on the Thomas Jefferson Gardens Board for three years and is serving in her first year as president. She describes what her experiences have been like being on the board.
“It’s a great board to be on. There’s just so much to be involved with in the community. I love working with a variety of different people and it’s a great learning curve, I’ve learned so much gardening while I’ve been there.”
Additionally, there will be souvenir t-shirts available for purchase and this is a come and go event.
