This Friday the Friends of Lake Panorama will be hosting their Beach Ball fundraiser once again.

FLP Executive Director Susan Thompson says that the event will be Friday, with registration from 4:30-5:30pm, and the meal beginning at 6pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio how the Beach ball first got started, regarding a destination playground project.

“We were receiving donations from individuals just because we were having a project, but we decided it would be a good idea to have an actual fundraising event. So we had our first Beach Ball in 2016, specifically to raise money for that playground. That worked, and we were very happy with it, and we decided to continue it.”

Thompson mentions that they have had a Beach Ball every year since, except 2016 and 2019, when the group didn’t have a large project they were working on. She adds that table sponsorship and registration is over, but that there may be a few single tickets left.

Thompson continues that besides the meal, which will include baby back pork ribs, smoked, barbeques and shaved pork loin, mac and cheese, baked beans, cornbread and coleslaw, there will also be a silent auction. She explains that for those registered, or for those who just would like to come for the auction, she needs to know so the personalized programs can be handed out.
