Jefferson teens are invited to a free event later this week, but registrations are required.

Jefferson Library Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says on Friday from 8-10pm will be a free outdoor movie of “Wolfwalkers” on the south lawn of the library for youth in grades fifth through twelfth. She talks about the background of the creators of the movie.

“If you are not familiar with ‘Wolfwalkers’ it is the same studio company, Cartoon Saloon, they’re an Irish-based company. They’ve recently done ‘Song of the Sea’ and ‘The Book of Kells,’ very beautiful, very unique art. If you look it up, you’ll probably recognize it.”

Mount states “Wolfwalkers” is about a young apprentice hunter and her father that travel to Ireland to eliminate the last of the wolf pack. However, the young apprentice befriends a free-spirited girl from a mysterious tribe that was rumored to transform into wolves by night. She adds that attendees will receive free popcorn from the Sierra Community Theatre and there will also be door prizes. Registration is required as limited seating is available.
