The Adair – Casey (AC) / Guthrie Center (GC) School Boards will meet in regular joint session Wednesday night.

The Boards will discuss contract recommendations, including William Shull as a physical education and health teacher and junior high weightlifting coach, Kena Baier as a 1st grade teacher, Emma Bireline as a junior high English teacher and Rebecca Diemer as the junior high cross country coach for AC Board, and elementary summer school staff and coaching recommendations for the GC Board. They will then discuss spring 2024 Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) data, the final property tax rate and liability/workman’s compensation insurance renewal for 2024-25, an interfund loan for GC between the general fund and school nutrition fund, and 2024-25 employee handbooks.

The Boards will also consider for joint approval 2024-25 operational sharing agreements, teacher 28E sharing agreements, milk and bread bids, Board memberships, TLC contracts and employee handbooks, along with fitness center memberships. The AC Board will consider for approval a transfer from the student activity fund for elementary and junior high yearbooks, a kitchen equipment purchase, student and staff computer purchase, disposal of obsolete equipment, compact utility tractor trade and the fourth pay application for the junior high bleacher project.

The GC Board will consider for approval the purchase of a pressure washer, and beginning a high school dance team. The regular joint meeting will then be adjourned to enter a joint closed session for superintendent evaluation, then return to open session for approval of the 2024-25 superintendent contract. The meeting will be held in the AC/GC High School media center, and begin at 7pm.
