The Perry Chamber headed to Van Wall Equipment in Perry Friday morning for the meeting place for their June Chamber Coffee.
Equipment Manager Brandon Bice discussed that he began working with the company in 1998 and the Van Wall location in Perry was founded in 1988. He stated that there are 31 Van Wall locations around the midwest that sell items in the agriculture department, along with forklifts, solar and wind energy, as well as featuring many brands of tractors.
Bice explained that 85% of the revenue derives from agriculture and that 63 employees occupy the Perry location. He commented that the organization sets up between 60-70 mowers a day and acknowledged the biggest challenges for him are the employee’s safety and satisfaction level. Bice realistically believes the industry will start to witness fully automated tractors within the next three to five years.
