Tomorrow the Guthrie County Historical Village (GCHV) and Museum will be hosting a fun informational event.

Historian Rod Stanley with the Dexter Historical Society and Museum and Guthrie County Historical Village Foundation will be giving a guided historical tour of the county to teach about the history and route of the Underground Railroad through Guthrie County. Individuals will need to preregister by contacting GCHV through Facebook Messenger or email at gchv@netins.net, providing their name, number and how many individuals will be in their group.

Those attending will start at the Historical Village, receiving maps to follow directions. Groups will also need to bring a picnic lunch and will need to drive their own vehicles as well. Topics will cover John Brown and the trip he made through Iowa in 1859, including a stop at Dalmanutha’s Porter Hotel.
