The annual Bacoon Ride is coming through Perry tomorrow and Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti reminds residents to be mindful of heavier traffic.

Pasutti admits that the chamber doesn’t do much with the coordinating but offers a chance to display the hospitality of the community. She shares that Perry is expected to have more than 2,000 riders pass through town. As the name implies, Pasutti reveals that there will be bacon available to eat during the ride. She describes the areas where there will be heavy traffic in the community.

“As they cross Highway 141, as they’re in town, and then as they’re heading out through the trail. Timing wise, anywhere from 7am to 1pm, really varies on people’s paces, how long they’re staying around whether it’s real hot, people get an early start, but the main service time is 8am to noon or 1pm is the official times, but we definitely see people trickle in and linger a little bit.”

Pasutti is inviting people to volunteer with the chamber to be cheerleaders along the trail, or to put up barricades around town. If interested in volunteering, contact the Perry Chamber at (515)-465-4601.
