Dallas Center – Grimes baseball was able to keep their perfect month of June in tack on Thursday night against the Gilbert Tigers, as the Mustangs were able to pick up win number 20 on the season with a shutout 9-0.

The number three team in 4A was good throughout the night, as they were able to put up three runs in the first inning, one in the second, three in the third, and two in the fourth and never look back in a wire-to-wire win. Keaton Fenn was able to pitch 5 1/3 scoreless innings as Gilbert struggled to get anything going against him. Caden Klug was able to come in relief and keep the shutout in tact with solid pitching out of the bullpen. The win is the third straight in the series for DCG.

Baseball will have no games over Father’s Day Weekend and then will be back in action on Monday when they play in a varsity doubleheader against Pella Christian.
