The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team captured their 13th win of the season as they shutout Carroll Thursday evening in four innings.
The ADM Tigers defeated the Carroll Tigers in Adel by a final score of 12-0 to extend their winning streak to six. ADM jumped on Carroll in the bottom of the first inning with six runs coming across for the early 6-0 advantage. The players that scored in the inning included Cameran Smith, Kaylee Smith, Kennedy Stanford, Ellis Smith, Aleah Johnson, and Aniston Tollari. ADM added one run in the second inning as Madi James scored thanks to a sacrifice fly from Stanford to make it 7-0. The ADM Tigers racked off five more runs in the bottom of the fifth with K. Smith, Stanford, E. Smith, Johnson, and Tollari to end the game 12-0 in four innings.
C. Smith had an 2-run RBI, E. Smith had an RBI Single, and it was Tollari with an RBI Double. On Carroll’s side, Averi Burke had the only hit as she finished one for two on a single. Burke was on the mound for Carroll as she pitched four innings, allowed 12 hits, 12 runs, and walked four batters. C. Smith started for ADM as she pitched four innings, allowed one hit, and struck out six.
Carroll has now lost four in a row falling to 6-14 overall (0-9 inside the Raccoon River Conference) while ADM has won six straight, improving to 13-6 overall (8-2 RRC). Up next for Carroll, they will host Nevada tonight at 7:15pm and ADM is playing two games in the Kiwanis Tournament in Roland with a 3pm game versus Benton and then a 5:30pm game against Perry.
