Perry lost last night to South Hamilton in Jewell, 11-4. The Jayettes got off to a hot start scoring two in the top of the first. The Hawks would immediately answer with two in the bottom of the inning. Both teams would plate one in the second. South Hamilton took their first lead in the third, 5-3, and would never give it back. Perry would surrender a four run fourth and would never keep up in the 11-4 loss.
Tunink was roughed up in this one. She surrendered 12 hits, 8 earned runs, and picked up 4 K’s. Perry combined for 9 hits. Two a piece from Karagyn Whelchel, Kalley Whelchel, and Bell.
The loss drops them to 5-8 and 5-5 in conference play. Perry takes tonight off before playing 4 games between Friday and Saturday in the Kiwanis Tournament in Roland.
