Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams broke a four game losing streak on Monday in Jefferson with a 7-5 victory over South Hamilton (Jewell) to improve to 4-9 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. The Rams had 10 hits in the victory and hitting has been a strength area for the Rams with a team batting average well over .300. This is a young Ram team with no seniors in the starting lineup and as many as six freshmen starting.
The Rams won the first meeting with the Norsemen last month in Roland by scoring 10 runs in the last two innings and coming from behind to nab a 12-7 victory. R-S was 4-9, 2-6 prior to facing Class 3A number 12 West Marshall (State Center) last night.
