The Jefferson Public Library caters not only to the youth, but also adults with its summer reading programs.
The Adult Summer Reading Program is underway, as it goes through August 24th. Library Director Jane Millard says anyone who is over 18 years old can participate with a library card. Adults can register and pick up an activity packet anytime before August 24th. To be eligible for prizes, participants must read at least six books, complete nine theme-related activities and attend three programs.
This year’s theme coincides with the youth Summer Reading Program with, “Read, Renew, Repeat.” If an interested participant does not have a library card, it is free to receive one and the process is very simple to do at the library. Anyone with questions can contact the adult department at 515-386-2835 or stop by when the library is open.
