There’s lots of road projects happening in the City of Perry, with one specifically along Iowa Highway 141.
City Administrator Sven Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there will be ponds on the east and west sides of Iowa Street, along the highway. Peterson says this project is part of the Iowa stormwater project to improve the overall quality and management. He mentions that the recent rains hasn’t caused flooding, but acknowledges that when it is really wet, that can create pressure issues with water getting backed up. Peterson illustrates that there will be some additions on the west side of the pond.
“Which is between Highway 141 and Iowa Street, we’re going to have a paved path around that pond, both for the ability to maintain it and to be able to allow people to walk around that and really experience all that that area has to offer.”
Peterson notes that the walking path is not the only idea for that area, but to also include a natural playground, especially for residents that live near Summer Meadows.
