It’s almost that time of the year for the residents of Stuart to celebrate.
It’s time for Good Egg Days, and there are a lot of fun events to participate in or watch. Co-Chair for the Good Egg Days Committee Shelby Renslow says things get started off on Friday, with the Egg-spress Barrel Train Rides at the basketball court and sign up for the Little Stinker/Little Stinkette sign up at the gazebo, beginning at 5pm.
At 5:30pm, sign up for the kiddie parade begins, with the parade itself to start at 6pm. Renslow tells Raccoon Valley Radio a little about the kiddie parade.
“I want to give a huge shout out to Andy Kaldenberg for donating the bags that all of the little gifts are going to be in. Each kid that is going to be there will get a bag for participating. The theme for that is, “What Started First? The Chicken or the Egg?” So to cast your vote, you dress your kid up, or the kid dresses themselves up, as what they think comes first, the chicken or the egg.”
Renslow mentions that at 6:30pm, the announcement of the winners of the Little Stinker/Little Stinkette contest and sign up for the baby contest will take place, with the kiddie water fights to begin on the street north of Lawbaugh Park. The Baby Contest begins at 7pm, and from 7:30-9pm is kids karaoke at the gazebo. Renslow adds that at dark, there will be a pyrotechnics show at the basketball park.
Co-Chair for the Good Egg Days Committee Kari Tisl says that Saturday has even more fun in store. She mentions that sign up for the 5K run/walk will begin at 7pm, with the race itself to start at 8am, and lineup for the parade to begin at 9am. Tisl shares a new part that they’ve added for the parade.
“During the parade this year, we’re going to do something different. We’re going to have a moment of silence for the town of Greenfield and all the people that lost everything during the tornado. I think they deserve to have a moment of silence.”
Tisl explains that the West Central Youth Club will be at the park from 9am to 2pm, with inflatables for the kid zone being open from 10am to 5pm, and the parade to begin at 11am. She adds that there will also be zoo animals to ride at the basketball court, a meal served by the Stuart Lions Club, performances at the gazebo, along with craft vendors and much more.
