A free program is taking place tomorrow in Churdan.
The Churdan Library, Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors are teaming up to bring nationally-renowned storyteller Darrin Crow to St. Patrick’s Historical Church at 2pm tomorrow. Churdan Library Director Shari Minnihan says Crow is a Cedar Rapids native and has always been interested in storytelling all of his life. In high school, Crow volunteered at the Iowa Living History Museum and then in college, he studied interpretive speech. Following college, Crow worked as an actor and itinerant storyteller in Pennsylvania and Florida.
Then in 1999, Crow came back to Cedar Rapids and continues to do storytelling. In Sunday’s free program, Minnihan says Crow will be doing an Old County Church program with music played on a bingo and songs from a hymn book with several tunes including “Rock of Ages” and “There is a Fountain.”
