Saturday is a fun-filled day at the Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson.
The Jefferson Fire Department Breakfast Fundraiser is from 6-10am and Fire Chief Jack Williams says there will also be four raffle prizes with all proceeds going to purchase new confined space rescue equipment, which is used to get people out of grain bins and other confined spaces.

“Thankfully we haven’t had to actually use it for anything in a real situation. We try to do one or two grain bin rescue trainings a year. And then we go to Syngenta (in Jefferson) and lower firemen down into their bins there to simulate and we have to bring a 175 pound manikin out of the bins at Syngenta.”
Then at 8am is the start of the Ding Dong Dash, followed by the 9am disc golf tournament at Daubendiek Park, and the Big Wheel Races are at 9:30am on the downtown square before the parade begins at 11am. New this year is that the parade will be livestreamed on the Bell Tower Festival Facebook page for those that can’t be there in person.
The afternoon festivities include the 3-on-3 basketball and pickleball tournaments at Russell Park, afternoon entertainment with the Dueling Pianos on the South Plaza Stage, mud volleyball at the Greene County Fairgrounds, a car show in the downtown square, trivia and bags contests, live bingo and Monster Arm Wrestling, which Bell Tower Festival Committee member Emily Dyer says should be a lot of fun.
“Monster Arm Wrestling, they are a business that sponsors it, and host it, and you just get to sign up day of, and have a little fun tournament arm wrestling. So I’m excited to see that too.”
The evening entertainment will be the band Black Top on the South Plaza Stage at 9pm, followed by stargazing near the square. Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be there broadcasting live from 9am-6pm tomorrow. Click the link below to find a schedule of events.
