In Greene County’s only locally contested primary race, the incumbent has defeated the challenger.
According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, the Republican Primary for Greene County Supervisor District Five, incumbent Pete Bardole defeated challenger Sue Bose 272 to 189 votes. All other primary elections were uncontested in Greene County. In the Third Congressional District Democratic Primary, Democrat voters chose Lanon Baccam over Melissa Vine.
The Auditor’s Office is reporting that of the 6,459 registered voters in the county, a total of 617 cast a ballot for a 9.55 percent voter turnout. The Republican Party has more people vote than the Democrats and the Libertarians, with 468 to 148 and one for the Libertarian Party.
