The Dallas County Emergency Management Agency is moving to a new spot in their current building to allow for more space.

Emergency Management Director AJ Seely tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the department will be moving upstairs to vacant offices at their same building, located at 25747 North Avenue, in Adel. He stresses that there won’t be any change with the mailing address, and says the new space will allow for greater operational efficiency, improved workflow, and less interruptions along with offering increased storage to place emergency management assets.

Seely admits the reason for the move is due to the fact that the agency continues to grow, increasing staff from one to three people. He acknowledges that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused meeting structures to change from in person to hybrid or completely virtual, as the current setup doesn’t have the ability to be split into multiple offices, making individual meetings difficult. Seely anticipates the move to be a gradual transition throughout the month of June.
