The public is invited to see a unique showing at the Sierra Community Theatre and enjoy a discussion afterwards.

Sierra Theatre Manager Sarah Nicholson says they are partnering with Iowa Cover Crop in Jefferson to show the documentary, “Common Ground.”

“And it deals with regenerative farming. We have a lot of people who have started kind of edging into regenerative practices. And we reached out to Iowa Cover Crop to see if they wanted to participate because some of the things that they’re discussing in the film are things that Iowa Cover Crop actually does. So we thought, ‘Well that would be a great partnership’ and they were so great they decided to join us.”

The showings are June 5th and 6th at 7pm each night and Nicholson adds that after Thursday’s viewing, there is going to be a discussion, moderated by Iowa Cover Crop.

“We’re having a Q & A that brings in local farmers who have also had experience in this arena. And we’re hoping to have a very lively discussion after the film and kind of just really have people who are passionate about what they do share their experiences and be more relative to where we live.”

It is a regular admission price, but Nicholson says Iowa Cover Crop is sponsoring the first 50 people that come to watch the documentary either night and can receive a free small bag of popcorn.
