It is summer break for the Greene County School District, but youth can still get some free meals

The Greene County School District is continuing with the US Department of Agriculture to provide free breakfast and lunch meals from June 3rd through July 26th. The district has four locations in each of the communities it serves. At the elementary school in Jefferson, breakfast and lunch will be served for dine-in on Monday through Friday in June with breakfast from 8:30-9am and lunch from 11am-12:30pm. Then in July, breakfast will be a grab and go option when youth eat lunch at the elementary school from 11am-12:30pm. On July 4th and 5th, there will be no meals served.

The Grand Junction Community Center will have a grab and go breakfast for youth to take home when they eat lunch at the community center from 11am-12:30pm.

There are two grab and go days at the Rippey Public Library and the Scranton Community Center, with breakfast and lunch will be picked up on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:40am-noon, where youth will get three breakfast and three lunch meals at each pick up day with heating and refrigeration instructions included. The week of July 4th, only meals will be picked up on that Monday to last the whole week.

These meals are free to any youth that are 18 and younger. However, the youth must be present with their parents when picking up food at any of the locations.
