A request for a new office location for the Dallas County Emergency Management Agency was approved at the Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday.
Emergency Management Coordinator AJ Seely asked the board about moving to the west side of their building, located at 25747 N Avenue, in Adel. Seely stressed that office space is pretty crammed and that the west side of the building would allow the appropriate amount of space for employees. Also, Seely mentioned that the office currently doesn’t have an actual break room and would like that too.
Other items on the agenda that were approved included an amendment to the fiscal year 2024 budget as presented, appointing Jacob Spurrell as a new deputy for the Sheriff’s Office, and two drainage assessments were also approved as presented. Additionally, the plans and specifications for the River Oaks Rehabilitation phase two project was approved, as County Engineer Al Miller detailed that construction will begin in July with completion set for the end of summer.
Additionally, the bid letting for the River Oaks project will be on June 25th at 2pm at the Engineer’s Office, 415 River Street, in Adel. Finally, Finance Director Rob Tietz confirmed that the northwest parking lot for the new administration building is open. Supervisor Kim Chapman wasn’t present at the meeting.
