It’s Greene County and Van Meter in non-conference high school baseball tonight. It’s a JV/varsity doubleheader with the varsity game scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Coach Kyle Stalder’s Rams are 0-4 on the season and are playing at home for the first time this season. The Rams have scored just four runs in four games and have not scored more than two runs in any contest.

Van Meter is a Class 2A powerhouse with State titles four straight seasons from 2019-2022. They were 25-10 last season and are off to a 7-1 start this season. The Rams, on the other hand, haven’t had a winning season in varsity baseball since 2018 and are 30-69 from the start of the 2019 season to now.

After tonight, the Rams are at home tomorrow night with Nevada and on Friday night vs. West Marshall (State Center).
