The Stuart People Active for Library Service (PALS) are bringing in their next guest speaker soon.
On June 1st at 10am, the PALS will once again be hosting Mr. Rod Stanley for one of his historical programs, this time focusing on some of the baseball history of Dallas County. PALS Member Carol Brewer tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they decided to invite Stanley once again.
“He has so many programs that he can present that I think is very interesting. So we happened to choose this particular one, regarding baseball. You know, time of year when people are starting to get more interested in going to baseball games, and having many children involved in baseball.”
Brewer mentions that a few topics Stanley will touch on include Babe Ruth’s visit to Perry in 1922, and the semi-professional team that played in Linden. She adds that the program is geared towards families, though anyone under the age of 18 needs to have an adult accompany them. There is no registration for the event, and it is free and open to the public.
