Dallas County is one of many Iowa counties to receive support from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), following severe weather in April.

In a press release, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds recently spoke with USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack with the severe weather that hit the state in late April, and she made a request for the USDA Disaster Assistance Plan.

Vilsack approved the request and noted that the state meets the requirements for the Flexible Spending Accounts Administrator’s Physical Loss Notification, which will open up federal emergency loan assistance for impacted Iowa farmers suffering from physical farm losses in 29 counties, including Dallas County. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
