The Greene County Rams lost 7-1 to South Hamilton on Wednesday night in Jewell in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball. The Hawks improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league while the Rams fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the HOIAC. SH led from start to finish with five runs in the second inning and single runs in the third and fourth frames. The lone Greene County run was in the third inning.

Greene County was out hit nine to six and all of the hits for the Rams were singles. Junior Lane Fields went three for three at the dish with the other three hits from junior Camden Jacobs, junior Gavyn Winters, and freshman Jaron Jacobs. Camden Jacobs had the one run batted in for the Rams.

Sophomore Teagan Chisholm started on the pitching mound for the Rams and took the loss. He went the first 3-2/3 innings and Camden Jacobs pitched the last 2-1/3. Chisholm allowed all seven runs, but only two were earned. He gave  up six hits and one walk while striking out six Hawks. Jacobs allowed three hits and four walks and he fanned the Hawks three times.

The Rams were charged with the only error in the contest.
