A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to prison and probation from a felony OWI.
According to court documents, 47-year-old Timothy Williams pled guilty to a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for an OWI. He had all but 30 days of a five year prison sentence suspended and then will be placed on probation for three years with the Iowa Department of Correctional Services.
The charge stemmed from an incident on January 12th. A Jefferson Police Officer responded to a vehicle that was stuck in the snow from a recent blizzard in the 1200 block of North Elm Street. Court documents show that Williams was the driver and had noticeable signs of intoxication and refused to submit to a field sobriety test and a breath test.
Williams was also ordered to pay over $3,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs, and other fees.
