The Perry School District will be honoring staff members at the Service Awards Night on Wednesday.

The district is celebrating staff members from the school ranging from five years of service to 30. According to the school, five staff members who are retiring will be recognized. Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks highlights the process of honoring those teachers.

“We honor those people that have been here throughout their career five years, 10 years, 15, and so on, and then any of our staff that is retiring, so it’s a special day.”

A press release from the school district reveals that the five teachers retiring include High School Special Educator Instructor Kristine Finn (34 years), HS Social Studies Teacher Diane Gibson (29 years), HS Spanish Teacher Jamison Blum (28.5 years), Elementary Art Teacher Leslie Mayhugh (23 years) and HS Math Teacher Joel Happel (19 years). 

The Annual Staff Years of Service Awards is taking place on Wednesday at 3:15pm at the Perry Performing Arts Center. The full list of staff members being recognized is below.
