The AC/GC Chargers are bringing home some top shelf hardware from the Iowa High School State Track Meet.

The Chargers competed in several events today, including the girls and boys sprint medley relays, with the girls ending in 6th place and the boys ending in 19th. The boys also competed in the high jump, where Senior Lance Bunde set a personal and school record, and secured the gold with a jump of six feet six inches, becoming the second athlete to win a state championship for the Chargers in as many years, with Austin Kunkle having secured two gold medals last year.

The boys also competed in the 110 meter high hurdles, with Brexton Schneider coming in 14th and Treyton Schneider nabbing 15th, while the 4X200 team grabbed 3rd, the 4X100 team finished in 9th, and the 4X400 team finished 5th, allowing them to move on to the finals today. Also competing today is the girls distance medley team composed of Nora Langgaard, Hannah Muller, Savannah Akers and Ava Campbell. Campbell will also be competing in the 800 meter run and 1500 meter run, while Andrew Mahaffey will compete in the 1600 meter run.
