Jed Magee doing another Lincoln program in 2021
The Greene County Historical Society is hosting a program about one of the US president’s assassinations.
Jefferson resident and expert on President Abraham Lincoln Jed Magee will be giving a free presentation at 2pm on Sunday at the Historical Museum in Jefferson about the plot changes to kill the 16th President. Magee says Lincoln was the most well protected person in the country after the Civil War in 1865 and yet one man was able to get to him and kill him.
Magee says John Wilkes Booth fatally shot Lincoln when he was attending a play at a theater and died the next day on April 15, 1865. The free program on Sunday is open to the public.
