May is known as Iowa School Board Recognition Month and Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks thanks the tremendous job the Perry School Board has done in a turbulent year.

Wicks shares with Raccoon Valley Radio that this school year has been a time for healing, referencing the January 4th shooting that occurred at the high school. He comments that school board members are dedicated to the community and school district as he credits the Perry School Board for their resiliency as the community continues to heal.

“Through these difficult challenges that we’ve had this year, that board was strong, they worked together, they had each other’s back, they had our staff’s back.”

Wicks illustrates that the board sets an example with their leadership, and that Perry is fortunate to have a calm, caring, and dedicated group of individuals who make up the board.
