Summer is approaching quickly and Perry Parks and Recreation Aquatics Director Ben Fleming dives deeper into related programs.
Fleming informs Raccoon Valley Radio that the Perry Summer Swim Team is beginning on May 28th and is asking for people to help out as coaches. He details that the season will run through July 13th at the McCreary Community Building for children to young adults (ages 5-18). Fleming typically looks for lifeguards to give swimming lessons.
“I focus on getting those lifeguards who have been competitive swimmers to give those swim lessons, so they can get hands on with getting in the water with the kids, going from basic level one and work their way up to become proficient swimmers themselves.”
Fleming reveals that the summer swim hours for the McCreary Community Building will start on June 3rd from 6am-8:30pm Monday through Friday.
