The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is partnering with the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach for an upcoming event.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that the Extension will be bringing their herb garden workshop to the library on May 21st. Extension Program Director Meghan McBride tells Raccoon Valley Radio what individuals can expect to learn at the event.
“By attending this workshop, you will learn how to create your own herb garden, and you will learn how to harvest those herbs and learn about Spend Smart, Eat Smart offered by Iowa State University Extension.”
The library and Extension also are partnered for an event on May 20th, where McBride will lead a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics after school program. To sign up for either event, visit the library’s website. Hawkins mentions that there is a $5 fee for the herb garden workshop to cover the cost of materials.
